AIR SURROUND XTREMEYamaha's leadership in surround sound systems is further solidified with the introduction of AIR SURROUND XTREME, made possible by applying a unique 24kHz HRTF (head related transfer function) surround technology. It allows you to listen to clear dialogue and other sounds from the front, specific sounds from the other channels to the sides and rear, and smooth sound movement around you. The experience is completely different from other "virtual surround" systems, which project most of the sounds in front of you, with only a weak surround effect to the sides and none to the rear. You won't believe the sound is coming from only two front speakers! The subwoofer delivers all the powerful bass you expect from multi-channel music and movie sources.
Extended StereoAnother new technology featured in the DVX-700, Extended Stereo moves the stereo image further to the sides. This means that the optimum sound field in front of the unit is much wider.
Four Surround Modes and Three Speaker Position Modes The DVX-700 gives you a choice of four surround modes: Movie, Music, Sports and Game. Select the appropriate mode according to the source you are listening to, and you will hear the best possible surround sound from it. There are also three speaker position modes: Narrow, Normal and Wide. Select the one that best matches your speaker placement to ensure optimum sound imaging.
Compressed Music EnhancerThe DVX-700 employs sophisticated digital signal processing with exclusive algorithms to enable playback that improves the performance of compressed music formats, such as MP3 and WMA. With the Compressed Music Enhancer, high and especially low frequency ranges are richer and smoother, bringing music back to life to be as close to the original as possible.
